A former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Obadiah Mailaifa,has disclosed that he got his information of a northern governor leading Boko Haram from traders in a market.

The former Presidential candidate who revealed that he did not know his comment will go viral, said he got the information from “some Fulani traders” in the market, Igbere TV reports.

He added his words were misunderstood and he did not even know he was recorded on video.

Mailafia who noted that he is a fan of President Muhammadu Buhari, averred that “there are bad people who don’t give him the advice to help him”.

Igbere TV reports that he apologized for his comments and also disclosed that he told the DSS what he knew about the incident and would not repeat what he said.

And that the repentant terrorist who supplied Mailafia with intelligence report that a serving northern gov is a boko haram commander are actually traders. This is bullshit. The question is, how will a trader know who and who is commander (sponsor) of boko haram? Who's intel about boko haram gov will be more credible, traders or former boko haram fighters? For the record, intelligence reports can come from any source. Beggers, homeless persons, and even street children can become a source of valuable information for security agencies.
