Following a 148-day layoff, the UEFA Champions League picked up where it left off earlier this month. After eight matches in eight days, the semifinal matchups are set: Paris Saint-Germain vs. RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich vs. Lyon. Every match the rest of the way kicks off at 8 p.m. ET, is being played at a neutral site in Lisbon.

The semifinals kick off Tuesday, and it's a historic final four. For the first time in Champions League history, there are two French teams in the semifinals. It's also the first time in 29 years that no teams from Spain, England or Italy have reached this stage of the competition.

Here's how the quarterfinals played out:

Paris Saint-Germain squeaked past Atalanta with two late goals in the dying moments.

Surprise American hero Tyler Adams, who spoke to CBS before the match, opened up his account for RB Leipzig and lifted his team past Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona crashed out of the competition in embarrassing fashion, giving up eight goals vs. Bayern Munich.
Lyon became the final semifinalist on Saturday, shocking Manchester City.
It will be a frantic sprint to finish line as the tournament is set to wrap up on Aug. 23, marking the first time the final will take place on a Sunday.

thats nice and its the joy of a one leg affair but city really flopped last nite, pep, sterling and that proud looking goalie failed them when it matters most but pep cnt get sacked bcoz he had done soo much for city but soo unlucky..
i still believe its better to be dumped out by lyon than to be humiliated by bayern his ex club..

No more Farmers league again.
If it was double legged quarter final, Lyon may not scale through.

Corona is changing the course of everything, we have been feeling the effect in sport, politics and economy.

more reason I think they should even totally scrap the return leg format. If you Are superior to your opponent and want to win, play the game on one stage and win it ones and for all. Rb Leipzig shouldn’t have made it too if it were to be return leg.

I think tired legs and Fatigue played a part..
Remember the Ligue 1 and Budesliga has been out of competitive football for a long time. They’ve probably been trying seriously while the other teams were competing seriously.
I think that played a part too but it’s no excuse

It isn’t so cool like that bro.

Football is entertainment and business.
Entertainment to the fans and Business to the club owners.
Home matches attract revenue through match tickets sold. Without this home matches, the clubs will lose the revenue for that.

We need being considerate also sir
