Five Reasons Why Messi Could Move To Man Utd And Three Reasons Why He Can't by OfficialJayy: 4:13pm On Aug 16, 2020
So with all these talks about what the future holds for Lionel Messi and where he could end up playing next year.. I have decided to come up with reasons why a move to Man Utd may/may not be beneficial..

REASONS WHY HE COULD MOVE TO MAN UTD

Man Utd's need for a quality right winger
Not since the days of Alex Ferguson has Man utd had a true right winger who has the individual ability to decide games in their favour.. The likes of rashford, lingard, mata, perreira, martial and sanchez have all tried in that position with little/no success.
Man utd's need for a right winger can be best illustrated by their recent pursuit of Jadon Sancho, but with the transfer proving very difficult, why not make a move for the best right winger on the planet?

Man Utd have all the resources to pull off the transfer
Probably every club in the world today would want Messi, but how many could afford having him on their payroll?
Psg could make a move, but they would need to sell one of their superstars to avoid breaking ffp rules.
I doubt if he would be willing to move to Bayern after what happened last thursday, and a move to Juve is unlikely because of 'you know who'
Inter milan has been mooted as a possible destination but that would require him to move on a free transfer and also to take a massive paycut.. A move to Man City would require them to halt their plans to sign new defenders and also to sell one/some of their wingers.
After moving Alexis Sanchez who was their highest earner off their payroll, Man Utd could simply replace him with Messi.

A chance to prove himself in England
One of the greatest football myths is if Messi could win with a team that is not Barcelona, and this transfer would provide all the answers needed.
There's hardly any Man utd fan that is not a fan of Ronaldo, what better way to win them over than to surpass what the Portugese legend did in Manchester.

A chance to preserve his legacy
Barca's recent struggles on the pitch is not surprising and personally I don't think its going to get better unless Bartomeu leaves the club, unfortunately, the general elections does not come up till 2021,so the question is.. Is Messi willing to risk facing further embarassment next season??

A chance to work with one of the world's most exciting sides
Man Utd's trio of Martial, Rashford and Greenwood are probably the best this season, and along with the likes of Fernandez and Pogba, they certainly won't need Messi to win all games by himself, unlike the situation in Barcelona.

REASONS WHY HE SHOULD NOT MOVE TO MAN UTD

He risks destroying his Barcelona legacy
Barca will always be thankful to Messi for all the magical memories down the years, but if he stayed with them during the good times, why move now when the club needs him the most?

Solkjaer's transfer policy
OGS usually prefers young, english players and Messi does not really fit this description.. But then, neither does Odion Ighalo, but that was mainly because they needed cover for the injured Rashford and could not get their preferred targets.

He could disrupt the harmony within Man Utd squad
A team can only be successful when most/all of its player are happy.
A move to Man utd would require the no.10 jersey currently worn by Rashford to be vacated, and the last time that happened was between Martial and Ibrahimovic, and we all know how that played out.
A move to Man Utd would definitely make Messi the best paid player in epl, but the last time such a thing happened was with Alexis Sanchez, and a majority of their players demanded a payrise which does not usually end well.

Thanks for reading.

Nice but your title is self contradictory. If he can, he can and if he can't, he can't. I don't know what you mean by reasons he can't and reasons he can. I suggest you replace the word "can" with "might". That seems to be the word you're looking for.

Thanks.
