Hi y'all.im new err n all.so i hope y'all dont mind if i post a little summin' i wonder if the British saw blood diamonds, cos i dont think they did. i mean with the controversy surrounding the blood diamond conflicts, according to Time magazine, one idiotic british artist Damien what's-his-name Hirst's latest creation is a platinum skull encrusted with 8601 diamonds! it is valued at $98million. 'cast from areal 18th century skull, the piece which includes the skeletons original teeth,is meant to be laughing in death's face! mo like laughing at the victims of the Rwandan genocide and other innocent victims who died and those dat r yet to die as a result of the diamond trade if u ask me. Whoever buys that diamond encrusted skull should get ready to be tormented by the souls of all the victims of blood diamond conflicts. |

your welcome Naija*girl. Thanx for your post. However, next time please do alittle more research so you can give a complete story. I got curious and did just that. In three minutes i came up with this. I hope other readers find it interesting as well. LONDON, England (Reuters) -- Damien Hirst, former BritArt bad boy whose works infuriate and inspire in equal measure, did it again on Friday with a diamond-encrusted platinum cast of a human skull priced at a cool $98 million. In my opinion one word, VANITY

Let's learn to mind our own business. If rich people want to squander their wealth, please they are free to do so. |

my argument is not on what rich ppl use their money 2 do,but on conflict diamonds. there r lots of issues in d world dat $98 mill can be used 2 solve 2 an xtent.poverty,AIDS, to mention a few.not on a skull dat'll probably end up on a mantle piece, table or corner unit. |

Diamond has its uses, no doubt. For all i know, an average African had nothing to do with DIAMONDS until the devil in the white man begin to pitch ppl against themselves, thereby entrenching fraticidal wars, homicides and the likes in mother Africa, I mean , those heavy armoury in subsaharan Africa, cudnt have been manufactured by Africans in Conflict. Its all vanity as someone said. |
