Nans Suspends Protest For One Week, Call On Nddc/cbn To Pay Foreign Counterparts by CampusReporters(m): 9:15am On Aug 18, 2020
Reports reaching the desk of the Campus Reporters has it that the Leadership of NANS Zone B has called for a temporary halt of the Planned Protest against the Niger Delta Development Commission today.

This decision was reached at the end of an appraisal meeting yesterday to evaluate the progress of the demands made by the apex Students body.

The Statement which was signed by the Secretary of NANS - Comr. Nwokocha, Obusoh Noble read that "NANS is pleased to announce that the Payment of the Foreign Scholarships and Tuition Fees is now underway, as we have followed it up, from the announcement by President Muhammadu Buhari.

We are on the know that every document has been cleared, remaining for the CBN to do the payment which will be done not later than this week.

As a critical reason for the protest, after an exhaustive and critical consultations, consolidations, deliberations, the Leadership of NANS in the Zone has Temporarily suspended the protest by one week."

Comr. Noble has warned that "If the scholarships are not paid by the end of this week, and other demands met, the Leadership of NANS will not hesitate to converge and occupy the Harold Dappa Building at Port Harcourt".


The Statement was copied to Commissioner of Police, Director, SSS, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, and the NDDC.
