AE-FUNAI REDOUBLES EFFORT AT ACTUALIZING ‘CAMPUS IN A GARDEN ‘VISION
Actualizing the vision to transform Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, to ‘Campus in a Garden’ has become a task that must be done, for the University Go-Green Initiative team, led by Mr Ifeanyi Chukwu, as they have continued to show more commitment, exerting more energy towards planting more trees in the campus, supplying manure regularly to the plants, replacing the weak and dying ones and protecting the plants from animals, insects, disease attacks and trespasses.

The visioner, Prof Chinedum Nwajiuba, Vice-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, has recently increased the frequency of his routine inspection of the young plants visibly growing around the campus. Prof. Nwajiuba has always put in his energy and eyes on the plants, providing seedlings from any where he could find the good and useful ones, even from his country home and personally sourcing for and directing supply of manure for the growing plants. He has actually shown uncommon love for nature and green environment, hence the laudable dream to transform AE-FUNAI to ‘Campus in a Garden’.




Prof Nwajiuba has always reflected on how beautiful the campus will be in a few years to come, how the students will feed on the fruits from the garden and how the trees will form shades for ‘ get together’. Prof Nwajiuba is simply working the talk and the efforts are yielding results.
