There are 66 books. 365days a year. You can go through 2 books per week.

I also suggest going through the Bible audiobooks first (you can find many on YouTube) to find the principles and flow(this will be fast), then sit with it a second time to read through the physical Bible ...

You'll get deeper understanding and hidden truths with every time you read through ...

To read the bible within a year it's possible, but to understand it properly within a year you are just dreaming

One can’t study the Bible in a year. It’s like trying to use a plane to travel round the universe in a year.

However, get books that would give you an overview of the basic doctrines of the Bible e.g man, God, salvation, sin, atonement etc This will enable you make sense of what you will be reading. For instance, the theme behind the Joseph story is ‘redemption’; The story of Joseph in Egypt is not about Joseph but Judah. Those books would make your focus much clearer when you read.

You may also listen to many good teachers on YouTube. John MacArthur and RC Sproul are very nice. Noel Jones is very methodical especially in his bible study arguments - he is a Pauline epistle based teacher. Get a good study Bible too; the best one can have is a MacArthur study Bible - it is expensive but it would be worth it.

As you get better, try to attend Sunday school preparatory classes in your church regularly with a view to contribute. It will force you to read and think.

Finally, try to avoid listening to people who are renowned for preaching on Sunday services and ‘big’ programs alone.

Have fun.

Studying and committing to memory everything in the Bible does not equal spiritual growth.....The most spiritual person in the entire Nigeria, according to God's perspective might be one illiterate mama frying akara by the road side...who knows? Not the attractive pastors wearing suits....

First of all your motive matter most!

Why the Bible out of all religious books?

Billions of people have shown similar interest in this book but most of them have selfish motives, so it's not going to be possible for anyone to study the Bible and understand it even if it means throughout a lifetime!

God only reveal himself to humble people who are willing to subject themselves to his will, but once a person is arrogant and proud, no matter how long such a person devote to the book he can never understand the Bible!

So for you to understand this book you need to IDENTIFY the messengers God sent to come and teach you his word {Matthew 7:16-20} then you must be submissive to them {Hebrew 13:7,17} and finally you must know that it's not a money making venture {Matthew 10:8} if you have these three points in your mind, you even can understand the whole Bible within less than a year! Proverbs 2:1-5

Poverty is more psychological than physical Sir!

The rich in reality are people enjoying whatever they have with hearts full of joy, bliss and contentment no matter how much or little it is real RICH people are always happy!

The poor in reality are people who are never happy with what they have, even if they own the whole of Washington a poor person will continue to work, labourers will eat and sleep comfortably but he will continue to think about how to acquire more of what he can't consume till he expire (die).
