Power Sector Corruption Practices by Collins2028(m): 1:57pm On Aug 26, 2020 |
All the money we have spent on the
power sector, it is a very shameful
thing that a country as big as Nigeria
cannot boast of a stable 5000
megawatt of power, while serious
countries are talking about 100s of
thousands megawatt to million
megawatts.
Today's news has it that we are set to
spend another $6,150,000,000 on the
power that we may never have.
Where exactly do all these funds go to
that we are yet to see any meaningful
result?
It is a shameful thing that with an
estimated 200 million people, a nation
that hypothetically parades itself as a
giant of Africa can not boast of
100,000 megawatts of power (100
Gigawatts) in 2020 and 21st century.
Please our leaders, are you people just
being foolishly wicked or cluelessly
confused?
At what time, will Nigerian
administrators, in all honesty, declare
a state of emergency in our power
sector and do right by the people?
Though we cannot say we have
recorded an overly impressive
breakthrough in telecommunication, at
least we can say we have passed a
required average. Can we at least
record same commendable
achievement in our power sector?
The money we budget for power
every year for the past 20 years,
which in turn gets looted is enough to
give Nigeria not less than 500,000
megawatts of power by now, if our
leaders were, to be honest, and
accountable enough to us.
Do you just budget this money and
share it among yourselves, or what?
Why must we invest trillions of naira
every year towards solving a problem,
yet the problem refuses to go away?
Please be truthful to us, what are you
doing with our money? |
