@ Lao4389,

I agree to everything you said apart from payment for return shipment to DHL. That amounts to double payment and it is not necessary. the GHC 331 you paid covered the cost of VFS returning your documents to you. I only paid that and DHL delivered my documents directly to me. So please nobody should pay any other amount to DHL apart from the cost of courier from Lagos to Accra plus the insurance bit (very important)

Sis, you don tey for this thread o. Abeg, if you've maxed out already, start learning French to gain points through TEF. You might not need it in the end, but it won't be a waste while in Canada, I promise you. Time is of the essence.

Good day people. I received my ITA in September and have a few questions make I no go lost.

1. POF - The bulk of the money we intend (spouse and I ) to show as POF currently seats in my child's mutual fund account. It was our own way of limiting access to the money and a culture even before we started considering Canada. This account currently sits under my BVN and I am the sole signatory to the account. I am now wondering, If I move the money to my account will it raise any flags? Or do I just present my child's statement as the POF since she is also a dependent and do a LOE .
Also, a friend who went through this process last year said he submitted only the Stanbic Mutual funds letter as his POF without attaching the statement of account. Can anybody confirm that this also worked for them?
Finally, has anyone used money in PIGGY VEST as POF?

2. For people who gave birth in the US did you use your childs US passport details when filling the application or Naija passport? Child doesn't have a naija passport yet.Can we bookk our medicals uing the US passport details.

Please if these questions have been answered before now kindly point me to links.
Thank you my people for always coming through.

Maybe that law has been updated. I know a few in my working place that has been paid 50%.am trying to move to NUPEMCO solely because of this. After enquiry from NUPEMCO rep, they told me the law says minimum of 25% and maximum of 50%.they equally showed me where it's clearly stated on their website. They said that most PFA pays d minimum while they pay maximum. Maybe it's because they r new Sha and maybe because they seem to be for university workers alone. Just thinking
Mamaroon:

the PFAs do NOT dictate the % payable upon voluntary retirement......PENCOM does.
See https://www.pencom.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/FAQ-CPS-reviewed.-17-Apr.-2018.pdf

11. When Can I Have Access to the Money in My RSA? : A holder of an RSA shall have access to his/her RSA upon retirement based on condition of service or upon attaining the age of 50 years (whichever is later) or is medically incapacitated. Where an employee voluntarily retirees, disengages or is disengaged, he/she can have access to 25% of his/her RSA provided that such employee is unable to secure another employment after 4 (four) months of such retirement.

I am also planning to use piggyvest. Sent them an email already. Another person can confirm..

For 2...I'm using my sons Nigerian passport. You will need one when you eventually want to take him out because you will be asked how did he enter and the visa he used to enter had just one month validity so technically he has overstayed.

I don't know if anyone has used US passport. Its always better everyone has same travel doc

Ok, proceed with caution though.

Imagine what the outcome might be, should a VO check online for what obtains in Nigeria........marking POF as insufficient because all the resources online (NUPEMCO included) reflect 25% not 50%.

25% (TEMPORARY LOSS OF JOB):
This is a benefit available for a contributor/RSA holder who is out of job (voluntary resigns or is disengaged) for a minimum of four (4) months and is below the retirement age of 50 years. The RSA holder may access an amount not exceeding 25% of RSA balance subject to National Pension Commission (PenCom)’s approval.

1. Either way (moving to your account or leaving in child's account), an LOE may be necessary (my view). Go with the option that makes for a shorter, more concise LOE.

2. eAPR will require you to declare all nationalities of your child. So you will declare US and I believe you can also declare Nigerian even without a passport. You should be able to book medicals with the US passport, I think. You may want to get a Nigerian passport for the little one though, not for IRCC's benefit but because of the issue raised by Aibisoye0 at Nigerian Immigration when you are checking out........simply avoid the potential delay, drama and plenty talk by getting the green passport.

Erechi:
Good day,
I want to find out something, if you get ppr now can one proceed to Canada even with travel restrictions? I know people who have ppr for before March 13 can travel but I want to know for those post March 13..

My reading of the details below is that yes, those recently issued PPR (post March 18 peeps) can proceed if they:-
* currently live in the US and are planning to go and settle (no soft landing) or
* live outside the US, they are immediate family members (spouse or common-law partner, dependent child, dependent child of a dependent child, parent or step-parent, guardian or tutor) of a Canadian citizen/PR.

Rumour has it that others have made it through, not sure how. It's all a bit confusing, maybe it depends on how strict your departing country's immigration is, perhaps they will not turn away anyone who actually arrives in Canada if you have a valid COPR. No personal knowledge of a post March 18 COPR that has travelled.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/travel-restrictions-exemptions.html#immediate

Foreign nationals who are eligible to travel to Canada. To be eligible to travel to Canada as a foreign national, you must meet the requirements for one of the following:-
an immediate family member of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is staying in Canada for 15 days or more

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/immigration-applicants.html#approved

You won’t be allowed to enter Canada right now if you’re coming to validate your COPR and become a permanent resident, unless you are exempt from the travel restrictions.

You are exempt from the current travel restrictions and can come to Canada if you have a valid COPR, and:-
*the COPR was issued on or before March 18, 2020, or
*the COPR was issued after March 18, 2020 and you are an immediate family member sponsored by a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or
*you’re currently living in the U.S. and will be coming to Canada directly (transiting through the U.S. to Canada doesn’t apply)

To meet the travel restriction exemptions, you must also -
*be coming to Canada to settle permanently (you cannot come to Canada and leave to go live in another country, even if it’s temporary)
*show you’re able to quarantine for 14 days

Hello everyone.

I need everyone's help.

Just received my GCMS note, and noticed two issues:

1. Employment record for primary NOC is marked "review required". Before I submitted my application, I did a thorough search of available NOCs and determined that the one I used was the most fit, but I still had my doubts because it's a managerial NOC (0131), even though my job title was not as a manager, but a network surveillance specialist. I just thought it was the best fit because out of 7 duties stated on the IRCC website, I had 5. Right now, I'm considering going through the NOC list again and if I see one that fits my work experience better, I'll raise a webform admitting my earlier mistake and asking them to consider the new NOC. I'm concerned if this is the right course of action to take, or I should just leave it as it is.

2. My employer for the above experience didn't include my salary in the reference letter because as they said in the letter, it is against their policy to reveal employees' salaries to third parties. However, during application, I attached a bank statement showing salary deposits for the last 6 months on the job, alongside a LOE explaining all this. Now, I'm curious as to why they didn't mention this in the GCMS notes. I'm considering sending another bank statement showing the salary deposits for last 1 year on the job, and I'm concerned if this is the right thing to do.

3. POF is also marked "review required". I wonder why because no reason was stated for this, and I believe my POF is in order. It's just my bank statement.

I'll really appreciate if anyone can help with guidance on what to do in these cases.

Thank you all.

Oga, you don't have any issue with the job description. As you can see, they are consistent with the lead statement. However, as per IRCC requirement your letter does indicate your salary. You should do everything possible to update your reference letter as necessary and raise a webform ASAP.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by Nobody: 3:08pm On Oct 16, 2020

its against company policy and he has provided proof of payments. The next officer reviewing it will definitely clear it. Arturx, you can write them an loe to say you have included evidence of payment. The VO is human and may have missed it.

Please I need someone who has evaluated their documents with ICES to tell me exactly how long it took, the 14 weeks I’m seeing won’t favour me and also for customer service team lead, what NOC does it fall under?

Anyone going through the same ?

How To Obtain The Reference Letter

The Job Duties Reference Letter can be obtained in 3 ways:

1) Employer/HR manager
(on Company Letterhead)

2) Manager/Supervisor
(on company letterhead, only if they do have access to it)

3) Colleague/Manager/Supervisor
(declared on the plane paper and get it duly signed & attested by the notary public and the declarer!)

I hope this might help you.

Don’t worry i don’t think theres anything faulted here. The work employment section is okay and consistent. If you want to do anything extra you can decide to raise a webform and resend your payslips together with an LOE. You tackled all loopholes already. Also the POF isn’t an issue too, they maybe want to confirm with the bank.

What is your AOR?

They do have the right to. The moment you applied, you gave them full authority to confirm anything they need to know. And sometimes after a few months they ask to resend your POF which is why i was asking what the AOR is.
