Globally the defence industry is a recession proof high value asset and companies involved are always smiling to the bank. If Innoson's defence department can take advantage of the Insurgency to produce high quality equipment it can become a force to be reckoned with at least on the continent. Imagine what testimonies of high survival rates in its MRAP's will do for its brand. There is no better and more realistic testing ground they will ever have than in the north-east today.

Wars has always spurred innovations and though they have always left tears, blood and suffering, they have also spurred great industrial advances, technological changes and spurred some of the behemoths in the global corporate world today.

Innoson may perhaps just be in the right place at the right time if they get their ducks all in line. Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman, Innoson Group of Companies Nigeria limited, says the federal government, under President Muhammadu Buhari, has given enormous patronage and support to his firm, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM).

Mr Chukwuma made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Nnewi, Anambra.

He also named Enugu, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Anambra, Gombe, and Bauchi as well as Nigeria military among the states buying Innoson vehicles.

Mr Chukwuma further told NAN that if patronage is given to his firm, it could transform Nigeria into a vehicle manufacturing hub in Africa in no distant time.

“I can say that Innoson vehicle manufacturing is doing well, especially with the level of patronage and support the company is enjoying under the present federal government, led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
