Disengaging Npower Beneficiaries Negates The Plan Of Creating 10million Jobs by Chimok: 1:48pm On Aug 29, 2020
The federal government in one of their promises said they will be creating millions of jobs and lifting many more out of poverty.
In a program (Npower) A graduate youth enpowerment program that stood as one of the biggest legacy of this administration at its creation and domiciled at the office of the vice president
Due to how the program was managed then by the handlers at the VPs iffice, these youths were ready to die for Buhari/Osinbajo mandate.
The program was stipulated to last for 24months but during the 2019 presidential election the beneficiaries were informally promised permanent employment if Buhari succeeds in his 4+4 plan, hence the program at that time already beyond 24months was kept running.
Then after the second term inauguration, the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs was created headed by madam Sadiya. The program was transferred to this new ministry.
From then on the program adjudged the best legacy of the Buhari administration took a very downward plunge. The stipend that normally came right at the end of the month started coming at the middle of the following month.
Then the promise of permanent jobs was changed to Exit package by the minister.
At this point there were so much disenchantment among the beneficiaries.
Then all of a sudden at the beginning of June 2020 the minister announced the disengagement of the beneficiaries without any prior knowledge. The two batches A&B that made up the 500000 beneficiaries to be. exited at the end of june and july simultaneously.
The promised exit package is no longer been mentioned.
The beneficiaries have gone for protest in Abuja in two different occasions pleading to the honourable minister to keep to her promise. which the minister was clearly adamant.
The stipulated terms of agreement by the federal government is that the program is for those who dont have any other job whatsoever So if u have any job you are not eligible.
Most of the young men are married with kids and have passed employment age going by the Nigerian system..
I'm calling on the good spirited citizens of this great country to judge this case. This young men and women have been atrociously been short changed.
Also asking the federal government how they plan to create their planned millions of jobs
