How to apply to Russian universities is often one of the numerous questions prospective international students asks.

However, Russia has in total 741 universities across the Russian Federation.

Also, Russia’s higher education is popular overseas. With almost over 230, 000 international students granted admission to study in Russia every year.

Even more, The Russian Federation also has a scholarship program for international students sponsored by Russia’s state governments.

How to apply to Russian universities

*Use Yandex, Google or any of the search engines search the keyword: Russian universities.

*Yandex or Google will pull up information about all the Russian universities.

*However, you can as well lookup the universities available for international students on the official website about higher education in Russia for foreigners STUDY IN RUSSIA.

*Select the university of your choice, surf their websites throughly, check their course and tuition fee.

*Send the university an Email. Mostly, for inquiries regarding their admission period, courses, tuition, hostel, admission letter, and visas.

*The school will then reply to you and feed you with the necessary prerequisites for international students.

*Follow all the schools instructions.

*If you’re OK with the information about the university. Go ahead and send in your application.

*But, before sending in your application translate all your documents to Russian Cryllic letters and notarize it.

*When the school receives your application, they’ll will maintain contact with you. So, as well you do same.

*If the institution accepts, and grants you admission the school will then E-mail to you the admission/invitation letter.

*Also, the original copy through courier to the physical address in the country you reside in, as provided in your application.

*Put together all the necessary documents, including the original invitation/admission letter.

*Visit the Russian Embassy or consular in your country, (Nigerians the Russian Embassy is in Abuja) with all the necessary documents and the original invitation/admission letter.

*Submit your visa application to the Russian Embassy in your country.

*The Embassy will book a date for your interview. After a successful interview, the Embassy will issue you and 3-month visa to Russia.

*Ones you’re in Russia submit all the necessary documents to the school. They’ll then process all your admission and submit your documents to the Russian Immigration for your visa extension.
