Shortly after noon on Fridays, the Rev. Ann Holmes Redding ties on a black headscarf, preparing to pray with her Muslim group on First Hill.

On Sunday mornings, Redding puts on the white collar of an Episcopal priest.

She does both, she says, because she's Christian and Muslim.

Redding, who until recently was director of faith formation at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, has been a priest for more than 20 years. Now she's ready to tell people that, for the last 15 months, she's also been a Muslim — drawn to the faith after an introduction to Islamic prayers left her profoundly moved.

Her announcement has provoked surprise and bewilderment in many, raising an obvious question: How can someone be both a Christian and a Muslim?

I saw that report some days ago; and like many others, I pondered about this question:

      Is it possible to be a Christian and Muslim at the same time?

Not only does political correctness allow just about anything under the sun these days, it simply allows the rational to be as beclouded as can possibly be. Does it surprise anyone that the Rev. Ann Holmes Redding doesn't even know why she became a Muslim?

For those Muslims who would be very quick to applaud this crack on the pavement, let me even ask: what does Islam say about people confessing to being Muslim but at the same time being Christian or adherents of any other religion at the same time?

Just incase you're wondering about how far this political correctness stretches itself, there are people who are making all sorts of claims today. Believe it or not, the following link where I first read about the Rev. Ann Holmes Redding also carries another claim of someone loudly proclaiming:

I took a cursory look at the above website and came to one conclusion: another muslim struggling desperately to make his religion built on blood and fraud fit into rationale society by trying to put it on the same level with christianity. While the blogger pretends to praise all the other religions like hinduism, it is clear that christianity is the religion he most wants to model islam on.

He says Rev Ann Holmes is a "beacon of hope in our troubled time", one wonders what he means by that. The bible is clear on the fact that you cannot serve 2 masters, you either serve the one and hate the other.

There were a few of her comments I found quite laughable.She says,"I am both Muslim and Christian, just like I'm both an American of African descent and a woman. I'm 100 percent both." The analogy doesn't work since there is no apparent incompatibility between being African American and being a woman.

She also says "It wasn't about intellect . "All I know is the calling of my heart to Islam was very much something about my identity and who I am supposed to be".Obviously,it was not about intellect,an attribute which cannot be reconciled with this decision.I dare say Islam is the antithesis of intellectual thinking.

This "priest" is clearly confused because Christianity is not compatible with any other religion. Jesus said " I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to The Father, except through me".

Other religions may brand this as an arrogant claim but sorry, true Christians do not believe that mixing and matching is possible here. Me included.

I've observed that a Muslim usually quotes three cliches in debates:

(a) at the beginning of a debate: "show the proof if you're truthful!"

(b) at the middle of a debate: "truth has come; falsehood is bound to perish!"

(c) when he's unable to prove his grounds on (a) and (b), he says:
     "your religion to you; and mine to me!"


Now, if we work these cliches backwards from (c) to (a), where are the muslims who are willing to ask the Rev. Ann Holmes Redding these questions:

(c) which of the religions between Christianity and Islam do you practise?

(b) where is the 'truth' in the perishing al-Taqiyya that merges both religions on being African American or on the basis of being feminine?

(a) what proof does she hold out for the deception of wearing a cloak on Sunday and wearing a black headscarf on Friday?


More importantly, does any Muslim have anything to show as to where Islam teaches that one could be both a Muslim and Christian at the same time?

Judaism, to my knowledge, has never been referred to (even among Catholics) as "Protestants" or under the unbrella term of "Protestantism".

As i said it before that you don't know history, you would ve knwn that before 7th century that islam was invented, there ve been oppositions such as Arianism b/w 3th and 4th till 8th century that ve been opposing the teaching of catholic church that lead to the destruction of the 3 kingdoms i mentioned early. All these opposition which the church declear as heresy and was been martyr by the church. If your current your knw about John Paul's apology first January 2000 about more than 50m killed by the church b/w 538AD to 1798 which is refers as dark ages in history today.
