Moat Academy in partnership with CertNexus, a vendor-neutral certification body in USA is equipping software developers with secure coding knowledge and skills required to design and develop hack-proof applications for business and organizational use with confidence. You will be awarded Cyber Secure Coder Certification upon passing an examination (CSC 201) to distinguish you in the Industry.

Cyber Secure Coder is designed to validate the knowledge and skills required to create and develop secure applications. With over 111 billion lines of code being written every year, and application developers sourcing over 70% of their code from sources like GitHub, there has never been a stronger need for coders to know best practices around security by design principles.

Organizations are looking to shorten their development lifecycles, decrease costs, and hire programmers who can help them do these things by focusing on security first, last, and always. Separate yourself from the other programmers, become a Cyber Secure Coder today.

As developers, you have great responsibility to ensure your applications do not leave loopholes for cyber fraud and other IT security risks lest your business and clients be taken to the cleaners. And, as part of the maturation process of a software developer is the ability to be able to write codes that do not introduce vulnerabilities into the system.

At the secure coding boot camp, you will employ best practices in software development to develop secure software.
You will:
• Identify the need for security and eliminate vulnerabilities in your software projects.
• Use a Security by Design approach to design a secure architecture for your software.
• Leverage on many of the OWASP Top Ten best practices to protect users and data.
• Apply various testing methods to find and correct security defects in your software.
• Maintain deployed software to ensure ongoing security.

Join our next Secure Coding boot camp starting from October 17,2020 by applying on https://securecoding.moatacademy.com/ ( Application closes as soon as all slots are filled or by October 10, 2020 ).

In one of the greatest data breaches, Capital One Bank suffered a loss of $80m in settlement and others after an hacker gained access to their customers’ account and the bank’s credit card application affecting almost 100 million people in the United States and about 6 million people in Canada (https://www.americanbanker.com/news/capital-one-to-pay-80m-in-connection-with-massive-data-breach).

The hacker carried out a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attack whereby Capital One’s Web Application Firewall was tricked into running commands that it should never have been permitted to run.

Come and learn how to militate against cyber threats, and build secure applications… sign up today at https://securecoding.moatacademy.com/ for our cyber secure coding boot camp.

In 2005, when Myspace was infected by what is known today as "Samy worm” ; the hacker (Kamkar) had almost a million friend requests in just few hours. The company had to take the site offline to figure out what was going on and purge the worm.

At the time, MySpace gave users a lot of freedom to customize their profiles, allowing the use of HTML code, which resulted in colorful profiles. The young hacker leveraged on this and carried out an attack via a technique known as cross site scripting, often abbreviated as XSS, where an attacker injects malicious code into a website, tricking the site, and the users' browser, to execute the code.

People who knew about web security were aware that it was possible to attack most sites the way Kamkar did, according to Grossman (a web security expert and founder of the firm WhiteHat Security), no one had taken the threat seriously until the Samy worm.

Join us from October 17, https://securecoding.moatacademy.com/ and learn how to militate against cyber threats including the XSS attack.
