Students Are Advised To Be At Alert As School May Open In September-this Is Why. by SportyTabs5050(m): 9:56am On Aug 31, 2020
Students are advised to be at alert as school may open in September-This is why.
Schools have not been opened since the month of March. It’s already six months and nothing has been seriously said about the reopening of schools, so many news and rumours have been evidently associated with this, prior to the reopening of Secondary school which allowed WASCE students to sit for their different examinations. Many student bodies have led protests, communiqués and other forms of messaging platforms to the minister for education regarding this pertinent issue which calls for immediate attention, but to no avail.
In the wake of the past weekend, a very powerful broadcast was made and published which stated that Schools will resume in Lagos State by Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu who announced that all primary and secondary schools in the state are to resume full academic activities from September 21, while the tertiary institutions are to re-open for academic activities from September 14, 2020. It is a known fact that it is in Lagos that the corona virus pandemic hit most hard and serious and intermittent lockdown has been going on there since the month of March. The governor finding it fit to reopen schools on the approval of the president goes so much to say about the restructure and regains of health status across the federation, students are advised to be at alert as school might reopen soon.
It has always been in the nature of things that important broadcasts are always made in the last day of the month or the first day of the new month, that is why ears are bent in anticipation that if the federal government does approve of this, then it should be verily known to all and sundry that school can be opened across the federation in the month of September.
