A mosque in Lebanon 'accidentally' broadcasted a Lebanese pop music from the broadcasting loudspeakers used for call to prayers.

A local mosque in the town of Numayriya in southern Lebanon has claimed it accidentally played the music of a Lebanese pop singer, Nawal Al Zoghbi, from its loudspeakers after a video went viral online of the mosque doing so.

The video shows the pop song blaring from the loudspeakers attached to the minaret of the mosque, while the Filmer could be seemingly head laughing in the background.

According to a report, in Arabic, by the Erem News, the mosque administrators defended the action and stated that the song was accidentally aired shortly after they had broadcasted a speech of the Lebanese Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, from a radio station.

The statement from the mosque claimed that the worker in charge of the broadcasting had left the mosque to bring some necessities from home, while the Parliament Speaker was still giving his speech that was being played from a radio frequency. By the end of the speech, the radio switched to playing the pop music.

In its lengthy statement, the mosque also added that nobody attended the mosque for the broadcast, as many other local mosques also aired the Speaker's speech to help reach people in observing the pandemic lockdown.
