A 37-year old man identified as William Nadu has died due to electrocution. The incidence took place when he tried switching from generator power source to main grid while watching TV in Sapele, Delta State.

Madu was watching a sitcom in his house when the power company restored power. He stood up to put change over but was electrocuted.

Before his death, Madu was the only male child of his father as well the sole breadwinner in his family.


Upon hearing the news of his son's death, the deceased's father fainted and had to be revived by neighbours.

What a pity! The change over switch may have been naked all the while but he didn't take it serious. Even as I type this many change over switches are in a similar State. Unfortunately we don't ever take things serious in this country until the unfortunate happens.



1. When in a fuel station to refill, alight from the vehicle

2. Make sure electrical appliances are always free of exposed current carrying part.

3. Never manage a vehicle without brakes or other essentials.

4. Do not drive a car without wipers, headlamps, good tyres, e.t.c

5. Lock or disconnect your gas cylinder and cookers..

And many more....

Accidents don't just happen, they are caused.
