People cannot eat three square meals comfortably in Nigeria, its textiles that's the problem.

No unity of purpose in this country at all. All man for himself, God for us all.

Get out while you can, No messiah is ckming to save you.

All major fashion designers will have their goods subject to a 500% import tax. If they want to avoid paying this, all they have to do is invest in the local industry and begin producing in Nigeria.

Nigeria’s trade and industry minister will offer a five year tax holiday to the likes of Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Zara, Gucci, Armani, Fendi, Versace, Ralph Lauren, Hermes and Dolce & Gabbana if they open production plants in Nigeria.

Ha Ha what a joke grin

Who can even afford those expensive brands in Nigeria?
At least this law won't affect the common masses who will choose the usual Chinese bend down select.

Lol. All the textile industry in Kaduna has been closed for almost 20yrs and thousands of workers were not paid. Boys are almost done stealing all the factory equipment.
They should consider reopening all this factories and we will take them serious.
That's why OBJ will never be forgiven. He deliberately killed power which lead to the closure of Kaduna textile companies, the best in the country. If you go to Kano also and see hundreds dead companies you'll weep, very sad. They're all closed for years.

Good news. Another good news.

But, let me quickly add that herdsmen must be put in check for this good news to become a reality.

As I type this, many farmers across many states have abandoned cotton farming because cows loves eating up cotton leaves and no one has come to their aid over the years as they continued to suffer losses in the hands of cows, it's untill they stopped farming cotton that they had relief.

This is happening in Northern states of Nigeria, not even South.

All I see is socialist policy can't compete with international standard

Allow us import cotton or textile ban importation of finish products

There is no how we can produce texile and cotton at the international price ...we are not comparatively advantaged in that area. ..

Let's import texile and let's make cloths for the world ...we have cheap labour

Nigeria is being led by oldies.they want to return us to the golden 70s forgetting that the rest of the world have already moved on..... to them....everyone must return to the farm...everyone except their own children they sponsored abroad for studies with monies they stole from the populace. that's why fromA-Z they're all spearheading one small scale agric related initiative or the other... Evn OBJ was only saved from this malady by the wiser and younger ministers and advisers he had around him then. When China, Taiwan and are closer europe and have better supporting infrastructure such as roads, healthcare, bank autonomy, educational standards, power and security, world class apparel countries should leave them and come invest their monies in this ghost town that our yeye policies have created.... those companies do not have quota system CEOs, they;re run by folks who attended one top business school or the other.... the gokada guy and others will remain as prime examples for anyone wanting to come risk any dime in our economy....one yeye tout can just wake up and decide to snuff you out of business..... not inding the hefty loans you took....
