Moussa Traore, who led Mali from 1968 until he was ousted in a coup in 1991, died at his home aged 83 in the capital Bamako on Tuesday, his family said. “We are really in mourning,” his nephew Mohamed Traore told AFP. As a young lieutenant in 1968, Traore was the main instigator of a coup that overthrew Modibo Keita, the country’s first post-independence president.

This man together with Houphout Boiny, Enasingbe Eyadenma, Paul Biya, Emperor bokassa, Blaise compaore, Mobutu Seseseko and Mathew Kerekou, Lansana Conte, Omar Bongo, Sassou Ngueso, Idrie Derby etc were the main reason most french speaking countries have failed to achieve their full potentials post independence...
Some of these men were either trained in the French colonial army or civil service and then deployed in different African capitals armed with French intelligence/military support to loot their countries bare with the help of French multi Nationals. Together with their looting comrades in Nigeria, these ones helped to make Africa the poverty capital of the whole world
