Lagosians the early hours of Wednesdays, September 16, took to the street in Ojuelegba part of the state to protest over anti-people policy, hike in electricity tariff and petrol price in the country.

Many of the protesters held in their hand playcards and posters with inscriptions like; Reject hike in electricity tariffs, for a socialist Nigeria, hike in a petrol and electricity tariffs is anti-people policy, capitalism needs poverty, just to mention a few.

Recall that, earlier this month, Electricity distribution companies (DisCos), across the country implemented a new electricity tariff regime.

This the protesters have kicked against saying that it is an anti-people policy.

In some homes, both parents are teachers in private schools. In some homes, both parents work in private organizations. Many more are businesses men and women.

Covid 19 has really taken heavy tolls on them, rendering their situations very pathetic.

Yet, the next best step from the govt is to increase fuel price and electricity tariff.

Insensitivity in this case is the height of understatement. angry
