Exclusive Interview with Comrade Mbah Ugochukwu, The Coordinator Southeast for Yerima 2023 .

Comrade Mbah who is a vibrant reformer and a well known activist cum politician with high network of young people at the grassroot across the South East States of Nigeria and beyond under his control, in this interview addressed some national issues of interest and why he is rooting for His Excellency Sen. Ahmed Rufai Sani Yerima come 2023 general election.

According to Comrade Mbah, Nigeria at a time like this need a disciplinarian, a detribalized man with high tolerance for a robust opposition and development of the country including human right and is only His Excellency Sen. Ahmed Rufai Sani Yerima can fit-in very well into this rare qualities in leadership.

Comrade Mbah who is also the Aninri local government Chairman of CNPP, pointed out that Sen. Yerima's humble beginning and career is a boost for his chances to govern the country and his strong political will and empathy will be of great advantage to the nation Nigeria if given opportunity to lead the country.

Speaking further, he said His Excellency Sen. Sani Yarima was elected governor of Zamfara State in 1999 . He was re-elected in 2003for a second term, which ended on 29 May 2007 . Yarima was the first Nigerian Governor to implement Sharia law in his state, which came into effect on 27 January 2000 . Zamfara's law adopted Sharia in its entirety, with the exceptions that apostasy was not criminalized and all sentences can be appealed to Nigeria's Federal Courts, which do not permit traditional Hudud punishments.

In his words, Comrade Ugochukwu Mbah stated that the former governor has always stressed his commitment to Nigeria as a multi-faith society. And is not debatable that then during the time of Sen. Yerima as governor of Zamfara that All non- Muslims in Zamfara are able to choose civil law rather than Sharia law when faced with legal

proceedings. Rights of non-Muslims to pray, preach and build places of worship were secured and reinforced. The mandatory closing

of shops on Friday and the banning of certain services, such as video rental shops, only applies to Muslim businesses.

Comrade Mbah noted that Yerima's expertise will be of great advantage to the country because having continued his early career with the Sokoto state civil service as an economic planning officer in the ministry of finance. Worked with the national directorate of employment as well as the CBN . He was later returned to sokoto state civil service as the director of budget in the ministry of finance.

Mbah reaffirmed that Sen. Yerima's wealth of knowledge and wisdom is what Nigeria need to pilot the country to a greater height. In final words Comrade Mbah pointed out that Yerima is not a butterfly politician and one of the few persons still standing as the foundation member of APC, for being elected into the Nigeria Senate 2007 under ANPP. re elected again 2011 under same platform.
