Is this fund the same as the 75b for youths?

No they are not the same.

The N75 billion Nigeria Youth Investment Fund was established by FG in July. We wrote an article about it.

Here is part of the article;

The federal government of Nigeria on Wednesday approved N75 billion for Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) during a virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The approval was announced by the Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare at the state house after the meeting as well in a series of tweets. According to the minster, the fund is targeted at Nigerian youths between the ages of 18 to 35 years.

He said the fund will create opportunity for the qualified persons to have access to credit facilities, to fund their ideas, innovations as well as support their enterprise. He said those with genuine business ideas would pitch their ideas to any of the 125 microcredit banks across the country to get access to the funds...

Do you mean when the Survival Fund will be paid?

If yes, we have not seen a specific date for the payment yet. But, since the registration for every sector will continue until Thursday 15 October 2020, we will assume the payment will be after the registration and selection process which might also take some time.

I meant when the application for the youth fund be available.

Okay. There is no specified date of application for the Youth Fund. However, the government said that Nigerian owned, registered businesses with genuine business ideas would pitch their ideas to any of the 125 microcredit banks across the country to get access to the funds.

So we think the fund will be available based on when the person presents his/her business ideas to the bank for consideration.

FG said that for the remaining part of 2020 an initial sum of N12.5 billion will be needed to kick start the fund, and that it will run through 3 years at N25 billion per year until 2023.
