There are three types of aluminium corrugations: regular (long span), metro-copo and step tiles. I'll talk about each of them, their pros and cons. Let me start with metro-copo.

Metro-copo
This is the most sort after corrugation presently. It is a bit costlier than other corrugations of same same gauge. For example, if 0.45 regular is N1700, step tiles 1750 and metro-copo is 1800. Why the higher price? Simple: Corrugating metro-copo is slower than others. Because of the design, the machine is set to run slowly in order not to puncture the material.

Pros...
It is very aesthetic.

Cons...
If your roof has long lengths, the sheets can jump lapping thereby causing your house to leak water. The result is that you might need regular maintenance that may at times incurs expenses and inconvenience.

Verdict
If your roof has long lengths like cathedrals and factories, avoid metro-copo. While using it for your private or commercial building, avoid low gauge otherwise go for other corrugations.

Why do metrocopo roofs have higher tendencies to leak than any other corrugation?

Answer
>Low gauge

>tiny polines
>over spaced polines
>scarcely braced rafters and beams

Solution
Any length above 10meters should be cut into two and joined.

Use higher gauge. 0.45mm and above is ideal

Use the right poline (2*2) and use rafters generously

Seal any hole with silicon gum, flaahband or or related material appropriately.
