ATBU regrets not employing third class graduate who built a drone
University says the student was not retained because of the school policy.
The Vice-Chancellor of
ATBU is one of the first universities to have Automotive Engineering as a course in Nigeria as the institution is believed to be popular for engineering courses.
However, the school had to reject an engineering student, who built a drone due to the university's hiring policy.
While granting an interview with Daily Trust , the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Saminu Ibrahim explained why the university didn't retain the student, whose name was not mentioned in the interview.
''We have a student who graduated with a third class degree and has been able to build a drone and did his youth service with the military. Unfortunately, we could not employ him because our condition of service does not allow us to employ graduates with third class degrees, and we regretted it because we would have held on to this guy; he would have been an asset to us'', he said.

From experience,you have three Categories of Students Orientations in Science and Art Fields,The Academics oriented ones,The smart ones and the Technical oriented ones.
Most Academically sound ones will be very good at cramming and pouring,will have first class and top the class,become Professors but can
Only transcend knowledge from Brain to Biro.
The 2nd are smart ones who learn the to leverage on the first and the third orientation,they share the two at 50:50 ratio,they finish with 21. Often times.

The Third ones may not be able to link Brain to Biro but they can link Brain to Hand becoming good at a crafting, drawing,singing,handiwork and Engineering.
They are usually very poor at Mathematics and Quantitative reasoning but give them tools and good environment,they will solve problems.
They are always the ones who do well with practical in class,you are always disappointed when you see or hear that they finished with Third class or 2.2
They are the ones you see who builds what a Professor will be brought to explain and Teach in class

that is why white men will be better than hundred million time.... a guy did a drone and because of the university useless policy they could not retain him.....

simple questions
1) how many of the professors and first class lectures they have can inven even a rubber car that they can use rope push... before we talk of a drone

2) how many of their first class and professors have invented anything even I'd the thing is useless..... how many of them have build a car or bridge or even come out with an engineering brake through

3) as an institution what can they boast of inventing that will make the world a better place

you see why the white man will be better than us.... if it was outside the country industries, institution, even inventor's will be looking for this guy like mad so they will improve and benefits from his knowledge.... so sad for my country Nigeria
