Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Special Adviser on Political matters to President Muhammadu Buhari, has blamed Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State over his suspension from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Igbere TV had on Thursday reported how Ojudu, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, son-in-law to APC national leader Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and nine others, were suspended indefinitely from the APC in Ekiti State.

The APC had hinged their suspension on the recommendation of the investigative/disciplinary committee inaugurated to investigate their alleged disobedience of the directive that party members should not institute any court action, and to withdraw existing cases in court.

But Senator Ojudu, in his reaction forwarded to Igbere TV on Thursday, accused Gov Fayemi of masterminding his suspension, saying he had earlier attempted to suspend him from his ward but was unanimously voted against.

‘Genesis of the matter’

“In March 2020, just after the lockdown was in place across Nigeria, I squeezed my self and got some money together. Some friends of mine also rendered a helping hand. We bought 250 bags of 50kg rice, some semovita, wheat and spaghetti. We added 500 tubers of yam from my farm in Uke, Nasarawa State and took to Ekiti State.

“It was shared to people across the state and they were very happy and was well appreciated by beneficiaries. I gave strict instructions to my aides not to publicize this. After all, this was not unusual. It is an act of charity, which every good public official and Moslem is enjoined to do by our Holy Books.”

‘How gov Fayemi started fighting me’

Senator Ojudu said his problem with the Ekiti state governor started in June this year after he granted an interview criticising Fayemi "for running a single-man government, and for underperforming."

"The next thing was pressure on my Ward Executive to remove me from the party. Of course they resisted, saying I have not done anything to warrant it. They are still at it arm twisting the poor folks in the Ward who unfortunately are my kinsmen,” he said.

"This morning at 10.30 am thugs led by the Ekiti State Vice Chairman of the party, Mr Sola Elesin, arrived at my house, assaulted my guard, broke the lock to the premises and dumped 13 bags of 25 KG rice. Like that really represented what was given to an entire state in March.

"Stupidly they recorded their invasion and assault and celebrated it on social media. We got intelligence about this yesterday, and put the story out hoping they will be dissuaded. Alas they were not! Is this what has become of our state under Governor Fayemi? A state where a contest of ideas must descend into contest of foolery?

"My aides in Ado Ekiti have reported the incident to the police and made statements. I have asked that the pittance of a joke of rice they brought be given to the needy in the town.

"Let me just state here that this assault will not stop anything. I will continue to say the truth and demand that the resources meant for the people be spent on the people and nothing else.

"My surprise is that the man who sent them knows and should have informed himself I am never flustered by this kind of gangsterism. Not even the military could break me not to talk of a tin god on crutches.

"This is a democracy. It is incumbent on us all to continue to hold our governors to account and not BUHARI this, BUHARI that. Let the billions in allocations be spent on the people. Let us stop diversion of Federal Government palliatives to be sold in Lagos by cronies.

"Let the unexplainable of use of state resources to charter private jets weekly to Abuja stop. Our scarce resources must be spent on good roads, good hospitals and clean water not on scam projects like an airport to no where.

"It is time to do what is right and no amount of intimidation can stop that. God bless Ekiti and all that swell therein. God bless Nigeria", the statement added.

Not so good but the man should be happy that he wasn't sent packing from Ekiti state like one governor recently did to Ex Emir Sanusi. Renew your loyalty to him (in the person of Governor Fayemi).

I learnt that he's the new caretaker of SW politics. I don't care about whoever raised him. Every beasts were at a point raised by someone including Hitler. Fayemi will handle SW politics with more maturity, vision and inclusion.

He wouldn't be too powerful to be demystified when the people of that region eventually get tired of him. Assuming Nigerians voted for Sowore that time when we were telling them, they wouldn't have been facing what they're facing today. On the off chance that he doesn't perform as expected, he'll be too powerless to impeach. Nigerians need a president they can easily impeach if y'all want things to go smoothly in this country.

He doesn't have any reason not to perform because he'll already know the danger that comes along with that. He'll understand that he's not enslave to be loyal to any Godfather (because he has none). Him attaining such position is purely due to the trusts of the populace. This is the only message you can send loud and clear come 2023 if truly you want a prosperous Nigeria. We honestly don't need any protest for now because we have every 4 years to decide a new fate. You're an enemy of Nigeria if you're still supporting APC or PDP. 2023 is not about choosing the right leader but sending a loud message that will even surprise the international communities. If that person did not perform as expected, you can easily impeach him within few months in office. You can easily protest and exercise your democratic rights because the military wouldn't even be under his pocket. You're not ready if you're still against this post of mine. Imagine if we voted both Buhari and Atiku out during 2019... Most politicians will be suffering from stroke till now because the shock will be out of this world.

Lastly, come 2023, let us remember that both APC and PDP are the same thing. Let us shock them please.. If we shock them in millions they can't rig. Nigerians are used to defeat and easily give up on a fight. Learn from Obaseki and be a fighter. We WILL win if only we fight en mass.

As Okorocha said, the only thing keeping the APC together is the respect for Buhari and nothing else.

Remove him from the equation and what you'd get is a fractionalized party at State and Federal level.

Sadly, Buhari is least interested in whatever infightings rocking the party

APC; gbas gbos from left right and center. It's true that Buhari is the gum holding these people together. Unfortunately, the gum may no longer be effective in 3 years time.
