In its actual sense, generosity is not just about handing out material things like money and gifts, but also showing forgiveness and being gentle to people. That is why generosity is described as a virtue, of which many people can not boast of having.

Top A-List Nollywood celebrities have an infamous reputaion of hardly ever making any money hand over fist. Each movie makes them more than what millions of Nigerians will earn in a lifetime. Every television appearance can make them the average person’s yearly salary. With that in mind, it’s a wonder that charities need to fundraise at all, with all that income flowing to the top 1%. However, for the sake of this video, we will be looking at people who give out cash gifts to those in need. The people in question here are Nigerian celebrities, most of which came from a poor home and were able to make it to the big leagues through entertainment. These celebrities in question make sure to not forget where they come from, and having gone through the hard side of life, do their own bit to help people out when they can.

these celebrities understand how hard the economy is and are not afraid to write large checks to help out the needy in the country.

Here are some celebrity givers who lead in charitable contributions.

1. Don Jazzy

The legendary record producer has been marked for assisting broke Nigerians on social media, especially students.

The Mavins boss is known to be very active on social media, sometimes dropping funny videos and pictures of himself doing random stuff, he has made countless handouts to nigerians through various social media platforms, especially via twitter.

Don Jazzy who was recently listed in the top 10 richest African musicians was said to have blessed a lady on Twitter with N250,000 to start her business last December, The producer most gifted an elderly woman N100,000 after she had offered sex to any man who could give her N500 to feed herself and her children during the lockdown in Nigeria.

In june, the Mavin Records boss further extended his generosity to a woman who lied to him about his bank known as VBank.

Don Jazzy promoted his VBank on his Twitter page recently, but the woman, while responding to the entertainer’s tweet, insinuated that Don Jazzy has been lying about the services and charges of the financial institution.

According to the woman, she was charged when she made a transaction with VBank contrary to what Don Jazzy said, claiming they don’t charge when one transfers money.

In order to prove himself, Don Jazzy asked the lady in question to show him evidence that she was charged and he will give her 100,000, but she wasn’t able to give him any evidence.

However, Don Jazzy transferred the promised amount to the woman, explaining that the gesture was to show that he trusts his VBank very much. This act undoubedly made him our number one generous celebrity giver.

2. Davido

We all know that giving out to charity doesn't really mean setting up a foundation or associating with one because that's how Davido comes into this list. The music star who just returned to social media after a long break, is known for giving out to charitable courses.the FEM singer is very generous with giving out money and gifts to people. Fans usually flock to the front of his lekki mansion to solicit for cash from the 30BG Boss who has on several occasions been captures dolling out cash to them.

After he and his wife, Chioma tested positive for Coronavirus, the singer, who recently broke the record after his single FEM, gathred 1.02 million unique views within one week, promised to donate all the proceeds from his new Summer Walker featured song,D & G, to support Coronavirus Research.

The most followed Nigerian artist on Instagram, once gave out a million naira each to 2 of his fans at his 'A Good Time concert', and most recently gifted one million naira to a young designer, Odukoya Wasiu Abiodun who edited a controversial photo of the singer and his counterpart, Wizkid.

The Aye crooner also gives out money to students who need to pay their school fees. He might be sometimes controversial but he surely has a heart of gold.

3. Kcee

Besides being a habitual recharge card giver on social media, the Limpopo master's act of generosity went viral on the internet when he gifted a street hawker with a brand new car and substantial cash.

This qualifies Kcee to join this list of most generous Nigerian celebrities. Also, he was caught by eagle-eyed fans when he shared more cards as he did a day earlier on his Instagram.

4. Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh is the most well-known celebrity who gives a lot to charity publicly. The beautiful actress is never shy to associate herself with the needy. Through her foundation, The Tonto Dikeh Foundation, she has given out to a lot of the less privileged, visited orphanages where she has not just donated but spent quality time with these children.

During one of her charity works, the actress revealed that she got injured while distributing relief items to the needy in Lagos amidst the Coronavirus lockdown.

5. Flavour Nabania

Our list of most generous celebrities can’t be complete without Flavour N’abania who is famous for putting mickey smiles on his fans’ faces wherever he chose to visit.

Not only does he bring hope to widows, Flavour does not forget his roots as he has been spotted many times at his old neighbour in Achara-layout, Enugu, sharing cash gifts to the cheering crowds.


6. Runtown

It is safe to say that Douglas Jack Agu popularly known as Runtown is the first celebrity who jumped on the bandwagon of celebrities who decided to help Nigerians cushion the effects of the lockdown order issued because of the dreaded coronavirus.

In March, the music star caused a major commotion on Twitter when he announced his giveaway plans. According to him, he was going to share N10m for his followers and fans.

In less than an hour, Twitter went into a frenzy as the music star shared the said amount of money to all those who sent their account details during the giveaway. This act alone shot him up into our list of Generous Nigerian celebrities.

Controversial Instagram enthusiast, Tunde Ednut, is well known for giveaways, in fact, the synonym for Instagram Givea aways is Tunde Ednut, last year, the former artist gave away 1 million naira to one of his fan and a car to another, the blogger is set to give out five cars to his active loyal followers.

He stated the cars are for those who have jobs and need a car to get to work early. According to him, one car will get to a lucky winner at the end of each month. And this will continue for the next five months.
