The Organizers of the Big Brother Naija Season 5, the Lockdown Edition show have revealed that the show got over 900 million votes. John Ugbe, the Managing Director of Multichoice Nigeria disclosed this during the live presentation of the grand prize to the Season Winner, Laycon. According to the M.D, this year's reality show, Lockdown Edition recorded the highest votes ever in the history of the show. John Ugbe noted that People vote massively this year, including online voting and this makes them have over 900 million votes. He, however, disclosed that this year's edition cost them 3.5bn for the production. Also, he revealed that the just-concluded edition was tagged LOCKDOWN majorly because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
