Each member of the House of Representatives has been revealed earning over N9 million allowance monthly. This was disclosed by Honourable Simon Karu, representing Kaltungo/Shongom, federal constituency of Gombe state, while speaking during a held event in Abuja on Thursday, to mark the country's 60th Independence day anniversary. According to the lawmaker, most of the allowance is channeled to constituents seeking for assistance. Hon. Karu disclosed that the official salary of each House of Reps member, being inclusive stands at N800,000 monthly, while the office running cost is N8.5million currently.
