APGA FAMILY CELEBRATED NIGERIA 60TH INDEPENDENCE DAY IN SPECIAL WAY.

.....as Hon Sir Melie Onyejepu (Ogbuefi) Chief Ben Obi (Igwe APGA), and Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, (Ogilisi Igbo), led other party faithfuls to the families of some Igbo Heroes from Anambra State.

By Bona Ogbonna

The APGA family, in their spirit of "Onye Aghana Nwanne Ya", celebrated in a special way, the Nigerian 60th independence day by felicitating with the families of the three major Igbo heroes of Anambra State extraction, namely;-
H E Chief Dr Nnamdi Benjamin Azikiwe, Owelle Ndi Igbo, (Zik of Africa), the first President of Nigeria.
Rt Hon Dr Abyssinia Akwaeke Nwafor Orizu (Horizontal), former Senate President and the first acting President of Nigeria.
Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, (Ikemba Ezeigbo Gburugburu), the first Military Governor of the Eastern Region, first APGA Presidential Candidate and APGA supreme leader.

The mission was sort of approved and blessed by the heavenly hosts, with heavy downpour which heralded the visits.

The team which took off from Awka by 10 am, made it first stop over at the Mausoleum of the Nigerian first President, H E Chief Dr. Nnamdi Benjamin Azikiwe, Owelle.
The APGA family were received at the Mausoleum by the T/C Chairman of Onitsha North LGA and members of the Azikiwe's family ably represented by Hon Uchenna Azikiwe.
Speeches were made by chief Ben Obi, the T/C Chairman Onitsha North LGA and Hon Uchenna Azikiwe who thanked the delegation for their visit which was first of its kind and historical that is worthy of emulation.
The delegation presented a cow and other items to the family.

The train moved to Nnewi with the Mausoleum of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu Ikemba Ezeigbo Gburugburu and APGA supreme leader as their next point of call.
They were joyfully received by the members of his family, led by Hon Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Ikemba Ezeigbo Gburugburu jnr. Others were the T/C Chairman Nnewi North LGA, the G/M Anambra State Bureau of Public Procurement Board, Hon Sir Melie Onyejepu, party faithfuls and well wishers.
Just like what they did in Zik's house at Onitsha, cow and other items were also presented to the family.
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu Ikemba jnr. thanked His Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano for this wonderful and historical remembrance of our past heroes, which according to him, is central to party sustainability and growth. He also lauded the party and the leader of the delegation chief Ben Obi, for his sagacity.
He prayed that it shall be well with the Party for the wonderful, historical and auspicious remembrance carnival like visit.

The train later moved to the Mausoleum of Rt. Hon. Abyssinia Akwaeke Nwafor Orizu, (Horizontal) where they were warmly received by a mammoth crowd of both Party and non party faithfuls who were amazed at the auspicious and wonderful gesture of the APGA family. They described the memorial visit as both historical, innovative and first of its kind since the passing unto glory of the first former Senate President and acting President of Nigeria.
The group, after their presentation of a live cow and other items they came with, were thanked by the family, which spoke through prince Nnamso Nwafor Orizu and prince Onwa Nwafor Orizu. In their separate speeches, they both thanked their August visitors and commended the party leadership for this wonderful show of recognition. The delegation were later treated to a sumptuous lunch by the host family.
One of the major highlights of the occasion, was the tour of the Nwafor Orizu's historical and elaborate library/museum.

Hon Sir Melie Onyejepu thanked all the party faithfuls for making out time to be part of this historical visits despite the early morning downpour. He also used the opportunity to urge every Igbo person, more especially Ndi Anambra to join the only surviving Igbo movement, called APGA. Sir Melie Onyejepu also used the opportunity to wish Ndi Anambra a happy independence day celebration, and prayed that God will continue to bless and take our fast growing State to a higher and greater levels.

With this historical and unprecedented visits, APGA has once again demonstrated that it's not just a party, but a "MOVEMENT" with a core Igbo idealogy. There wouldn't have been any other wonderful and memorable time to remember and celebrate our past heroes than during this year's Nigeria independence day.

A special thanks should be given to His Excellency, Chief Dr Sir Willie Obiano (Akpokuedike Global, Akpoo Aza na Nnewi, Odogwu Omambala), his ever supportive and Amiable wife, Chief Dr Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme), Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka (Ogilisi Igbo),the indomitable and ever proactive Igwe APGA , Chief Ben Ifeanyi Obi (Mbuze Agulu) and the hardworking SA to the Governor of Anambra State on Budget planning, Efficiency/AIRS, Hon Sir Melie Onyejepu (Ogbuefi), for this.

Thanks to the ObianoInUs#

Thanks to the ApgaSpiritInUs#

APGA is more than what you think it is. It's a movement.
