The shared prosperity government of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, is modifying governance in Imo State so as for investment to strive, and this he is doing by creating enabling environment for investors, especially for diasporans who are ready to develop the State.

Revealing this to newsmen in her office on Monday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Affairs, Council Celia Osakwe-Hibbert, hinted that currently 50% investment in Imo State is owned by diasporans, and apart from government they are the highest employment of labour in the State.

She disclosed further that currently there is engagement through her office with diaspora athletes of Imo State origin,and this is coming at time when the athletes are looking forward to partnering with the State government in harnessing talents in sports, according to her engaging with Imo diaspora athletes is one of the areas that needs to be tapped into,which will in return bring value for the State.

Adding that since inception of shared prosperity government of Gov. Uzodimma,there is open gate of diaspora investors trooping into Imo State to see how they can contribute their quote in state building.

The Governors aide who disclosed that the global COVID-19 virus pandemic has posed a challenge towards the numerous diaspora engagements in the State, opined that currently Imolites are gainfully engaged by some investment setup by diasporans, like the Shanghai Engineering company at Owerri-Orlu road which employed over 200 staff, peanut company, fishery, water factory and others.

Celia Osakwe-Hibbert,said though alot of diasporians lost faith about the State cause of accident of past administrations, however stated that there is need to engage diasporans in the helm of affairs if the society seek for change.
