How Does IPPIS Affect State Universities? by olawalepopoola: 3:53pm On Oct 08, 2020
After today's announcement by the President that only lecturers on IPPIS will continue to receive their monthly salaries, my question is how does this affect the State Universities that on strike with them? Why are the State Universities in solidarity that does not concern them. Why are they delaying students in the state Universities.
What is your opinion?

Any state University that has not resumed yet is based on the factor of state declaration of resumption, or an internal strike action.

Federal universities ASUU ain't same with state. LASU,KASU, KSU etc has resumed.

any state university that hasn't resumed is due to internal dispute with their state government and not ASUU strike. State universities are not under ASUU union. Once your governor orders state universities to resume they'll resume.

Looool.. wrong...

When the chips are down its ASUU that fights for them.. so I believe there is an understanding between the Federal and State..

The only way a state university lecturers can resume is by opting out of the strike or by opting out of the association.. or if they have been suspended by the association eg LASU

Finish

University is a universal entity and ASUU is a national body of university lecturers. An injury to one is injury to all. ETF, TETFUND, are all outcome of ASUU struggle amidst countless industrial action. Whatever package a Federal university lecturer is entitled to, his counterpart from a state university can also benefit from it. Even the gesture is about to be passed to private universities soon. The only difference is whom their visitor is and hence the tag "state" or "Federal" university

IPPS is not associated with State ASUU. They get paid by state government.

Almost every state that has announced resumption has their state Universities resumed.

The body ain't the same.
