A socio-youth group in Nigeria called 7th Republic has called on the attention of Nigerians to immediately commence a radical, but peaceful protest, against the bedrock of corruption, perpetrated in the civil service by Directors and Permanent Secretaries, who have become super rich and powerful in the bureaucratic system.


In the statement, which was released and signed by Kazeem Tanimu, the Initiator of 7th Republic few hours ago in Abuja, it had spotlighted and condemned the alleged corrupt practices of one Dr. Babagana Adam, the Director of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage-DOAS FCDA.


The statement noted that Dr. Babagana Adam of DOAS has been engaged in several misconduct and unlawful activities, including the destruction of paid advert, signage, the arbitrary increase of the levies, and close down of business of enterprising Nigerians to enrich themselves.


While narrating the pain and circumstances, 7th Republic stated that the advert practitioners' policy of DOAS under Babagana Adams was monopolistic and has formed cartels in the sections, thereby discouraging proactive youths and young prospective Enterpreneurs from undertaking their business in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.


However, Dr. Babagana Adam has continue to work in parallel direction of the constitution guiding the regulation of outdoor activities, which is a sole role of AMAC. Reports already has it that the Director of DOAS has no regard for the Area Council's Chairman, and has therefore hijacked it's constitutional role, as a result of his super rich capacity and influence in the bureaucratic system.


This is coming few days after the Department of Outdoor Adverts and Signage issued a letter notifying the public of its decision to embark on the redesigning of Bill Clinton Road Advert structure and placement, in other to give the main entrance of the nation's capital a world class view and standard structure.
