We don't want restructuring, we don't want anything.
On southern Nigeria we stand.
Nigeria should split into 2 peacefully as recommended by Mamman Ghadafi of blessed memory.
Where do you stand?

Although Nigeria structure currently does not make any sense
I still believe that we can work out our differences
What the north really needs is for the majority of the masses to be educated

Re: #southernnigeriawestand by spy24(m): 6:09pm On Oct 18
The truth is that our six and population gives us a big advantage in many ways just that our leaders since 1960 have failed
No break away region would be better than the best version of this Nigeria
Re: #southernnigeriawestand by Igbochief001(m): 6:14pm On Oct 18
spy24:The divide between north and south is too much we can't grow at the same rate
Let north go all our indixes goes up , GDP per capital , morality rate , child mortality rate , polio , literacy rate , everything jumps up
Population is unless if it's not productive
If we have a healthy population of just 60 million down south it's more than enough

If we are going to have a UNITED STATES OF SOUTHERN NIGERIA (USSN), it has to a restructured country from the start so as to prevent us having another Nigerian problem where one or two might want to dominate all.
States should be merged to a cluster. The igbos should merge, the akwa-cross states should be merged, the ijaws in rivers should merger with their people in bayelsa and delta. Parts of warri delta should merge with benin/edo, then the Yoruba cluster. We will have about six or so territories.
Capital should be decentralised, and not moving it to Lagos. We should decentralise it like that of South Africa where they have executive capital in Pretoria, legislative capital in Cape Town and judicial capital in Bloemfontein. We can have ours in Ibadan, Enugu and Calabar.

Trust me population is not useless o
Do you know why Asia is currently the continent with the strongest nations in the world ?
Have you wondered why the UK France Germany cannot compare with China currently
If Nigeria break it will make countries like Ghana and south Africa happy
Population is a big advantage forget all those nonsense that Western media are to painting to the third world countries about population
If China decide not to export they have enough people in their country to use their products
They have enough people to defend their territory
Do you know that Nigeria is the richest country currently in Africa as developed as Egypt and south Africa they are not as rich as Nigeria
Nigerias problem na leaders ones we get it right in that aspect 50% of our problem would be solved
Re: #southernnigeriawestand by lilfreezy: 6:34pm On Oct 18
All these are useless if ethnic nationalities are facing the possibility of being wiped out by expansionist. What we want down here and what they want up north are totally different. We don't mind splitting to save our race. All this population thing means nothing sef when there is no purchasing power. Na people wey dey carry plastic bowls dey beg upandan you dey factor join the population?

spy24:Population is important when it's working
Re: #southernnigeriawestand by spy24(m): 6:48pm On Oct 18
You are still dwelling on the problem
I did not say that Nigeria is working as it is
Let's join hands to make this country work it is possible
I repeat no region will be as great as the best version of Nigeria
Honestly I like the country that I came from
But our leaders still remains the real problem we have as a country
Re: #southernnigeriawestand by cocolacec(m): 6:54pm On Oct 18
We should go back to our empires before the British came i.e Oyo empire,Benin kingdom, etc
Or divided along geopolitical zones.
Re: #southernnigeriawestand by Deprofessional(m): 6:59pm On Oct 18
Nigeria can never be salvaged no matter the policy in place.
Those people up north want to take over the lands down south. It is in their blood. Go and read the history of the fulanis, you will understand what I'm saying.
A confederal arrangement will be perfect for southern nigeria.

When you cook the books, you end up with these inbalances. Like many african countries do on the continent, the stats are always cooked. Some times the stats are not there to look good on the international eyes, but are there to focus and channel development in the areas where development is mostly needed. But in Africa, stats are there to paint the country better whereas things are falling apart and people are dying of hunger.
