What is the history of "Soro Soke" or "Soro Soke Werey?"

It has been a slogan and a catchphrase for the ongoing #EndSARS campaign. Soro Soke is the Yoruba for "Speak up!"

But who was the first to use Soro Soke Werey? Is it totally a child of this campaign or does it have its origin somewhere else?

It's in the Bible

in proverbs 31:8-9, and I quote,

E soro soke fun awon to kole soro .ki e si ja fun eto awon alayini

"Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless. Speak for them and be a righteous judge. Protect the rights of the poor and needy."
