Ogudu was founded over 300 years ago by a brave hunter Amosu by name, he left ile ife in present Osun state, western Nigeria with his brother Amore and their family,

Why Ogudu?
AT the mention of Ogudu GRA in Lagos, one thing that comes to mind is a calm, serene and lovely estate tucked in the suburb of Ojota. The community boasts of exotic houses, good road network, with the full complement of functional streetlights and drainage, and is surrounded by equally expensive estates such as Omole, Magodo Phase 1 and 2, populated by the rich and upwardly mobile Lagosians.
But like several aspects of life, Ogudu is not defined by a single story. In this same posh area is a fast-expanding slum that is a direct contrast to everything good about Ogudu. Ogudu is largely a residential area with cool neighbourhoods, Ogudu GRA is a suburb in Ojota just off Ikorodu Road and within a short distance to the Third Mainland Bridge with the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway lying at its tail end making its properties for rent highly desirable. It is close to the mainland (Ikeja, illupeju, Anthony, Maryland, Ojota) and close to the Island just before Iyana Oworonshoki which is the last mainland community before the third mainland bridge which terminates in the Island (Ikoyi, Obalende, Marina, Lagos Island, Victoria Island) It is a very strategic location for the working class, who may not be sure of the location of his next job either the Island or mainland where majority of the job opportunities are centred in. It is convinent for Civil Service staff looking to always get to work on time in Alausa, Ikeja, it is just one bus away. Ogudu is a more cooler and quiet neighbourbood than Gbagada.
