Former Governor of Kebbi State and Senator representing Kebbi Central Senatorial district, Sen. Adamu Aliero has advised the government to go after the protesting youths if attempts to negotiate with them fails.

Aliero’s position was at the backdrop of concerns raised in a motion by Senator Biodun Olujimi over violence occasioned by the End SARS protests.

Senator Aliero reasoned that no government would sit and watch lives and properties being destroyed in a manner that the End SARS were going about now.

He said, if government fails to release full wrath, things may go wrong.

“I want to say that government should do whatever it could to end End SARS, because no responsible government will sit and watch lawlessness happening to democracy like ours.

Protesters are different from hoodlums. A sane govt knows who to go after. I am yet to hear of any thug arrested by the govt. Some politicians advocating for harsh actions against peaceful protesters are likely the sponsors of hoodlums so they can get justifications. The message is already clear and it's about ending bad governance else the country will collapse into ruins cos many citizens have woken up to fight.

please just stop this argument already. How do you expect the government to identify the hoodlums in a crowd that moves together? You are only encouraging violence. The youth needs to go home now and re-strategise...and also give the government some time.

If truly you are the smart prof you claim to be, you would know the protest was already heading the wrong direction from the day our yoots began to search for alleged offenders to kill. Please stop encouraging this on nairaland.
