Who aids the vote buying and the manipulation? Is it not the same youths as voters, thugs, party agents, INEC staff? Will Buhari, Tinubu, Wike, Atiku and co be the one to be giving out money for votes on election day, thumbprinting ballot papers, snatching ballot boxes, manipulating result sheets?

You don't get my argument, do you? You cannot fix Nigerian problems through elections. With the current political system, even if all the major political parties chose youths as their flag bearers, those that would be elected are those that are loyal to the powers that be, or the cabals' sons and daughters. These street protests are necessary to bring about real reforms to Nigerian system, because this would help restructure the system and produce brand new crops of leaders. The youths just need to stick to their plans and always come out to protest enmass, not in few groups, and they will win as they are already winning.

Don't be surprised that the current youths will start bearing arms to the protest as the security operatives continue facing them with firearms. It is just a matter of time before someone stepped in in this direction if the youths are resilient in their protests. By then, the despotic leaders will have no choice but to give in to their demands.

Oga, let.me say it again categorically that protests will not solve this problem. If it could, Donald Trump whom many of you support would have listened to the Black Lives Matter protesters, identify with them, denounce white supremacists and instruct the Senate and Reps to make laws that will resolve racial discrimination once and for all. On the contrary, even after 4 months of protests, Donald Trump has ignored them and even called them bad people for looting and rioting. Perhaps you remember the phrase.."when the looting starts, the shooting starts" credited to Donald Trump.

The Hong Kong protesters have been protesting for over 1 year now but the Chinese-controlled government has not given in to their demands.

These are the so-called saner climes that many Nigerians love to refer to when comparing the decadence of the country with the outside world.

In the USA, what are the blacks doing about it? They have started voting massively for a government that they think would be helpful to their cause.

That's the only way to go Brother...get your PVC. Mobilize your people to adopt a new party besides PDP and APC and vote massively for people with genuine intentions into the House of Assembly... that's where you should Start from... that's where the laws are made.. that's where a president can be impeached if he doesn't keep to his promises. Reject the money bag poiticians with their money on election day and see if you will not make a change.

There's no forceful takeover of any government that has yielded anything good going forward. Ask them in Libya, Somalia, Afghanistan, etc. Taking up arms I can assure you may only lead to the military coming back to take power, thereby setting the country back by 21 years. I don't know if that's what you want, but for me, that's never a good idea.

Another major problem about your suggestion is that even the youths are not united...thus, even if you take over power, I see another Libya arising where only the state capital is under control of a central government whereas all other areas of the vast country are in the hands of various warlords, who arose because they didn't want to be under the control or leadership of another contemporary.

These are facts...the earlier we accept them, the better for all of us and the country!
