The issue with Nigeria is the system. This system deals with the problem of the masses with blunt force but a few so-called elites are exempt. For example, armed robbery was on the rise, they created SARS whereas it was on the rise because people have no means for survival. Had there been opportunities, it would have resulted in a decline in crime. Until the police is not answerable to the big politician, the big religious leader, the big businessman, the big celebrity, there would not be justice to the common man. Police needs to stopped from being security aides to these set of people because the psychological implication is that such people are not under their purview.
Accountability must be demanded from every elected politician. No politician should campaign on the premise of building roads, schools, or health facilities and offering electricity, because these are basic social amenities and should be accessible to all.
Again, we need to review our stand on ethnicity and religion. It's set us back in many ways. It has not allowed us to think constructively or unite ideologically.
