The pathetic position of leadership in the Nigeria Government continues to sink to lower levels of human existence. Their apathy to the plights and cries of the Nigerian youths continues to land on deaf ears. Their silence and continued impudence have risen to a crescendo.
The Buhari led military Government, clothed in the deception of Democracy, has worked from day one to silence the voice of the youths in Nigeria. By promoting ethnic sentiments, seeking to divide the nation along ethnic and religious lines, shows that this Government has no intention of uniting us all.

It’s the height of ineptitude for a Government to fail to understand the plight of the common Nigerian. The youth of this country are calling for changes that affects them and their lives. They’ve abandoned everything else to get on the street to make peaceful protest, a right I believe is fundamental in a democratic setting.

But the bad faith in this Government, shows they care less about the plight of the common man. The Buhari-led military regime, instead of engaging in dialogue with the #EndSARS protesters, decided to revert to military style approach of suppression through violence. Shooting at unarmed protesters, in a country that has a democratic obligation to protect its citizen, is not only misappropriation of power but an act of genocide.

We recall again the exploits of the Israelites in the book of Exodus. How Pharaoh refused to let the people of God go and worship him. Just like the Nigerian Government, the demand of the protesters is nothing more than honoring their request for their basic human rights not to be trampled upon.

The right to live without fears of the men of SARS. The right to a better economy and standard of living. The right to responsible and responsive leadership. The right to accountability in Governance. I believe something the blood sucking regime of Buhari, campaigned on in their manifesto.

Unfortunately, like Pharaoh, these evil leaders, instead of listening and forming a coalition to dialogue with the protesters, decided to impose curfews to restrain them from airing their discontent at the Government, through a largely peaceful protest.

When Moses approached Pharaoh, to let God’s people go under the repressive policies, that kept the Israelites in slavery, his first action was to make their burden worse. The parallel in the actions of the Buhari-led military Government is almost ironic, but accurately depicted in the same way Pharaoh reacted.

Pharaoh (Buhari), instructed his task masters, (Sanwo-Olu) etc. to inform the Israelites that they would have to make bricks without straws. They would no longer be entitled to the little freedom they have to organize a peaceful protest. That they are lazy Nigerian youths, with no work to do but to be on the streets asking for bad Governance to end. That the burden they were under wasn’t enough and that is why they have time to protest. So, they decided to take that freedom away, and imposed a curfew that if anybody disobeys, without warning, shall be confronted with the brute force of an armed military arsenal.

This is exactly what was done on 10.20.2020. The Nigerian Government sent out armed men with live ammunition to shoot at peaceful protesters, because they disobeyed a curfew imposed by task master Sanwo-Olu. Once again, the life of the Nigerian youth was shown to the whole world, to mean nothing to these blood sucking vermin called the Nigerian Government, led by its military leader – Buhari.

But like Pharaoh, we would cry out to God in one voice and ask him to deliver us once more from the hands of Pharaoh and his evil task masters. We would lift our voice to ask for a leader like Moses, who would rise to challenge this blood suckers. We would blow out our trumpet and make a loud noise to our God for deliverance. We would ask God to come down and empty his plague on the evil leaders of our nation, that have turned Nigeria to its cooking pot. From the fake lion in Bourdillon, to the kings in Aso Rock, the proud waters would swallow them like Pharaoh’s horse and its riders.

We ask that God would intervene again as he did with the mad king called, Abacha. The surgical precision of God’s power that eliminates evil without our hands, would prevail upon the enemies of this country. That Pharaoh and his armies would perish in the red sea. That God will visit them with a plague as they have spilled the blood of innocent youths. That the deliverance of the Nigerian youth would come on the head of their first sons and daughters. That they would know that there is a God who fights for the powerless, and he doesn’t sleep nor slumber.

As Christians we cannot keep quiet in the name of peace. Our cry for help is not to the International community alone, but to our God. It is to the God of the Israelites. We must meet violence with violence. We must embark on deep prayers and remind God once more to bring down his might hands on the Pharaohs of our land, so that his people may serve Him!
