Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has condemned the attack on #ENDSARS protesters by security forces on Tuesday evening in Lekki toll plaza.

The governor disclosed this in a live broadcast earlier today, October21, 2020. In addition, Sanwo-Olu ordered the suspension of all state activities for three days in solidarity with the ongoing #ENDSARS protests and agitations across the state.

He also noted that the flag at all government facilities will be flown half- mast in the next three days.

While giving updates on the shootings of protesters, Sanwo-Olu said, he went out all night with members of his team and they visited hospitals, mortuaries to get first hand information on casualties The governor said 24 of the injured were being treated at three hospitals- General Hospital (10); Reddington Hospitals (eight) and another hospital (six) adding that three of the victims had surgery and about four would be discharged today.

Appealing for calm, Sanwo-Olu apologised to the youths, reiterating their anger was justified.

He pleaded with parents/guardians to restrain their children/wards as government makes efforts to contain the situation.

The anger cannot be suppressed by killing more young persons!!

And the young persons should stop the looting and destruction of properties!!!

Order for their deaths, then apologize for doing so. Nothing can replace a human life.

Some people working in armed forces must lose their lives and be tried at court, publicly for punishment and deterrent to future trigger-happy police men.

If an oga at top ordered them to do so, then oga must go down with them as well.

dont just condemn it,do something that would benefit lagosians.

He wouldn't have apologize if the youths have backdown.
