Jumia has temporarily shutdown its operations in honour of those who had unfortunately lost their lives in the ongoing #Endsars protest.

Jumia through their website at jumia. com.ng, wrote that they'd be honoring those who died in the ongoing protest, with an online midnight to dawn vigil, starting at midnight 22 Oct 2020, and ending at midnight 23 Oct 2020.

The full text reads:
With sadness and heavy hearts, it is our wish to honour those who died in the protest with an online midnight to dawn vigil on the Jumia site starting at midnight Oct 22 and ending at midnight Oct 23. We ask all our customer, sellers, partners and stakeholders to join us as we use this medium to express our sorrow. We will resume our operations at the end of the vigil and continue serving our customers and sellers.

It is our prayer that the unfortunate event of pass days will strengthen our commitment to work together as one people and one nation bound together in freedom, peace and unity.

Lol. Scammers. When they know fully well they can't make a dime with curfew almost all over the country. A better way to show solidarity with the protesters would have been to donate money, food or drinks.

What an excuse!

The fear of online hoodlum-protesters made them close down grin
