This is not a bible study, so don't feel overwhelmed smiley

I opened my bible earlier today and just got a revelation from a chapter i have read several times over - the famed story of Joseph and Potiphar's wife

This time around what got my attention wasn't the fact that Joseph ran away when she dragged his clothes.

What interested me was how easy he could have laid with her - with no one noticing.

I have come to believe that the greatest temptations will always be set up to make you sin against God - with little to no effort.

Just so you don't have to squint your eyes at the picture

Genesis 39:6-12

[6]And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.

[7]And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.

[8]But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

[9]There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

[10]And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

[11]And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.

[12]And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

In verse 8-9, you can see Joseph was literally second in command and Potiphar had committed a lot to him.

He could have easily used this to justify sleeping with Potiphar's wife

In verse 11, none of the other men servants were around. Just him and Potiphar's wife alone.

A perfect set-up to sin, i mean nobody would be watching. But you obviously know Joseph's response.

As a Christian, i really want to encourage you to stand strong.

Joseph's situation was a very comfortable position to sin. But he knew better.

I have had my fair share of temptations and know that there is never a good time to yield or give in.
