The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, in Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State chapters, have bemoaned the killing of nine indigenes of Oleh community, calling on security agencies to unmask and bring perpetrators to book.

It would be recall that nine persons were killed in a farmland on 16 October 2020 around the Oleh kingdom, a development that has thrown indigenes of the kingdom into mourning.

Clad in black attires, the Christians bodies which held a prayer session tagged Black Sunday around the Yanga Market of the community, condoled the families of the deceased

Speaking during the intercessory program coordinated by Isoko Church Leaders Council, ICLC, Bishop Benson Eghaire noted that the prayer was for peace in Isoko land and also pray for the families of slain ENDSARS protesters.

The clergy reiterated that, the purpose of the prayer session is to preach peace to the people, stressing that “Let there be peace in Oleh, Isoko nation and Nigeria”.

In a short exultation, titled “We are in the End Time”, Anglican Bishop of the Oleh Diocese, Rt Rev John Aruakpor prayed God to change evil doers and fight for Oleh kingdom, Isoko nation and Nigeria.

The highlight of the event was a prayer session by various church leaders towards redeeming the land and people from evil and restoration of peace.


The clergymen prayed for the consolation of bereaved families and declared that death and sorrow will never be seen in the land anymore.

They prayed for spiritual cleansing through anointing the land and declaring that evil perpetrators in Isoko and Nigeria be exposed and ridiculed.



They pray God to do what no man can do, expose the perpetrators and their sponsors, as lies and injustice on the people is everywhere.

The president general of Oleh kingdom, Chief Believe Alakri, while commending the Odiologbo of Oleh kingdom, HRM Anthony William Ovrawah, Omogha 1, for being present, thanked Oleh indigenes, people from Irri and other neighboring communities for turning out en mass to attend the prayer session.

He also commended the clergymen from various churches, maintaining that the interdenominational prayer for peace in Oleh, Isoko nation and Nigeria was at the right time.

He urged the people to be peaceful and vigilant, noting that government is on top of the situation to unravel the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

Let the law take its cause.. All those guilty should be identified and dealt with accordingly.
