Angelfrost:it is quite True there is discontent between law enforcement agencies and the public, including the mighty United states. Protesters there looted and vandalised properties but they never lynched their police men. The same can't be said for Nigeria. So if the police will be only vilified for using force to stop rampaging hoodlums who refuse to stand down, it's better for them to disregard their orders and save themselves. |

chikago1: Bro, hoodlums are not the same as protesters... Ignore the dumb narrative by sycophants. Even abroad, hoodlums and miscreants also try to hijack protests or hide under peaceful protests to carry out looting and destruction... It is up to anti riot police or national guard to patrol and repel them!!! This is not something new!!! |

ivolt: Talking about taking responsibility, who in d govt of buhari has taken responsibility for d lekki incident? Even d C-in-C is afraid to take responsibility? Why is no one taking responsibility for what happened that night? At first, d Lagos State governor said he wasn't aware of soldiers enforcing curfew in his state& that he didn't give any such orders or invites. D military high command that same night, said it wasn't aware of it's soldiers being deployed to quell protests at Lekki. It even went a step further to debunk videos showing soldiers at d scene as "fake news" and photoshopped videos. Just today, d military has now accepted that it's men where actually deployed to quell d protests at Lekki but it was d governor who invited them. U are accusing youths of not taking responsibility in a protests. U see people in govt who are being paid to secure lives can't even take responsibility. They are all passing d buck. Old men don't have d courage to come out to say that they are responsible for what happened. Y are they all shying away? Did something happen at lekki that is so grievious and gruesome that is making these old men including d president to say they have no hand in what happened at lekki? |

You better go & face the hoodlums & leave the Police out of this, you have forgotten you don't really appreciate the work of the Police, you want a situation that you will allege them of brutality against hoodlums or extortion, they already know your love for them,no place to live or place to work , you burnt their barracks & stations, broke into their armoury, you killed their personnels, so they lack manpower to assist you, don't expect such persons to die for ingrates, this is the time for reality. 1 Like |

Eriokanmi:You people should forget this chest beating The police and army just didn't want to cause too many casualties knowing there would be video evidence everywhere |

Angelfrost:I never said hoodlums and protesters were the same. Initially, the protests were peaceful until our politicians and those with selfish interests hijacked it through their thugs. The police were walking on eggshells because they couldn't use force without people labelling them as brutal. They are also not against the protests because the protesters were also fighting for them. |

NOETHNICITY:First of all, I condemn arson in its totality. Without the police and the army, there would be anarchy. What I was trying to say isn't about chest-beating. All the policemen killed nationwide by those hoodlums were said to have shot at them first, killing some of the youths and the rest mobbed them killed them before they could discharge more bullets to disperse them. They also set their stations ablaze in anger. Looking at the population of those looting warehouses for food, except you deploy thousands of policemen to tackle them would they be overpowered. Its about time the federal govt employs more people in large number in the police force with good salary package and better working condition because with the kind of united spirit those hoodlums exhibited, not minding or fearing being killed, they can do worse in near future. There's a little or nothing 400k policemen would also do to to secure over 200m Nigerians. More people should be recruited without delays. 1 Like |

Bigpat: collecting salary without working is a crime. if they don't do their duty, let them return the salary. killing innocent young men has nothing to do with policing. it's called extrajudicial killings and it's a crime. |
