What Next? by chester23(m): 10:16am On Oct 28, 2020
WHAT NEXT?     Here and there, we look around, we are done     Then what next?     This toiling and suffering is over now,     The pestilence, predators and pest have eaten     Deeply into the fabrics we adore and cherish     Weeping and crying have we known     For a long time now
The crops have withered away, the fruits are all     Rotten, and the leaves die off     All night long, we pondered, wondered and slept     With our eyes open, we are lost in thought     For gone are our hopes, those we trusted have failed     Our succor no longer embrace us with humility     We kept thinking what next?
The hope of living for another is a dream     We cried for no yet another day for the pains,     We can't endure, any longer     As the days increases so do the sufferings and pains     And so is the hunger.     Death awaits us, but before we die, what next?
The killer of the youths kept killing without restriction     The youths cried in pains and fear asking who is next?     They now have matched in their numbers in the pathway     And landmarks crying and shouting     For all who care to all, that they fear who will die next     Now their cyrings and weepings have not be heard     What next?
No food for us, no water, everything is to high for the poor     To own, yet they poor crave in pains of hunger yet work     Under the hot sun and cold weather for peanuts     Crying and asking what next?
Now the youths, marching and shouting under the rain     And the sun, have been hunted, sent to their early grave     With empty stomach but load brains      by the bittered predator      Lo! The youths are dying again in greater numbers,      Being killed by the protector turned predator     Who is next? What next are we to do?
Now the youths have turned into soldier ants, running     After the sophisticated predators,     They run, loom, boom and loot under the rain and hot sun     Though with empty stomach     Oh! They loot the houses and food stores of     the predators,     Where next and what next?
With tears, hunger and unclothedness have these hunted     Youths run, loom, boom and loot yet killed     Yes killed by the predator, killed by hunger and no work     Yet pronounced lazy by the potbelled predator     And they ask what next?
The mighty predators now fear, fear and fear    They fear the actions of the bigger predators whom may    Question their actions.    Now, to submerge and immerse the outrageous acts    Of wickedness, placed a tag on the youths to justify    And purify their wickedness,    They tagged these innocent but hunted youths Hoodlums    Oh! What next?
The future and hope of the youths who art the leaders    Of tomorrow yet no tomorrow for them is at stake    This predators are the leaders of today and yet that    Of the tomorrow,    What next? Written by: Enyeribe Chiemela Chester
