On the internet today, you’ll see tons of photography tips for women. They’ll talk about this and that and how they can look their absolute best in pictures. But, whatever happened to photography tips for men? Unfortunately, they aren’t exactly the most common things on the web. At best, you might just get articles about poses to use in pictures.

Now, it’s a bit understandable considering that a significant portion of men aren’t huge picture fans. You’re either too busy, or you just don’t think you look good. But, at some point in your life, you’ll have to make memories, and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to end up looking like Shrek on some of the most important days of your life.

So, here are a couple of useful photography tips for men. They won’t magically turn you into David Beckham or Trevor Jackson, but you’ll definitely look good.

1. Lighting is important

For some reason, people think it’s cool to take pictures within four walls or to back a source of light while shooting. I wonder why that’s so, but it really doesn’t do much for your appearance in the picture. The thing is that your camera needs proper light to take good images in the same way that your eyes need light to see. What’s worse is that your camera isn’t as good as your eyes. So, it doesn’t adjust as quickly or as easily. As such, if you must take good pictures, make sure your lighting is good, and you’re not backing your source of light. Better yet, just go outside and use the sun.

2. Editing apps can be of great help too

This is one of the photography tips for men that might seem like a colossal waste of energy. After all, who has the time to start scrolling through different filters and whatnot? But, these apps were created for a reason. You don’t have to spend several hundred hours trying to edit your black hair until it turns white. But, a few finishing touches here and there will definitely go a long way.
