My advice is to ask for reviews from people that have used both android and iOS, most of the arguments here are always one sided, from fan boys, most people haven't actively used both, and iphone is from 6s plus up, anything below is not recommend. I use both android and iOS because they are both better in their own ways iOS does somethings better and android also, I just can't use one phone, I'll feel left out, android as the daily driver (calls,WhatsApp, etc), iphone for gaming, camera,media in general.
If you like smoothness and not having to clear your cache everyday after daily use , get the iphone.
if you game a lot, like a lot, the apple does a better job at handling games than their counter part, smoother experience, no need for game boost and all.
Pictures uhm, that one is personal preference, if you're into pics get 7plus up.
if you like tweaking, customization, freedom, it's android, but note it's due to this freedom, the phone gets laggy over time.
My advice is use Android now, when you get enough cash, get and iphone, if you don't like it, you can sell it.

Help me decide abeg, I just want to upgrade from redmi 7 and this is exactly why I am not sure about getting RN9 again since I think it would be like using my phone all over again (redmi and stuffs) although I believe they are different. I don't take picture so RN 64 MP doesn freak me. For 6s+, I want to have a feel of iPhone but I fear I might not have the same freedom I get on my android coupled with the fact that the phone is old and I might end up not enjoying the phone.
