The 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended provides for right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, section 38 of the Constitution provides.

”Every person shall be entitled to freedom of thought, conscience and religion”.
Judging by inciting utterances coming out from houses of worship in the name of sermon has put the Indigenous Igbo Muslims in great jeopardy.

On the 21st day of the Orlu Central Mosque,Imo State built by Muslim Igbos was set ablaze and the Muslim neighborhood was thrown into uncertainties.

The Barracks Muslim Mosque at Nsukka,Enugu State was burnt because of a disagreement between a Keke man and a hausa man instead of settling the issue between the two parties,the mosque built by Igbo Muslims and headed by Igbo Imam and Ladan was set ablaze.

The South Eastern Igbo Muslims are now living in fear of uncertainty, having been marked for possible annihilation or massacre for practicing a religion other than peganism and Christainity.
