The Federal Government (FG) has again attacked the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over the lingering industrial action. Recall that ASUU had since February 2020, began an indefinite strike in a bid to force the FG to implement its agreements with the lecturers and protest against the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), which it said is not transparent. In spite of FG’s directive that all educational institutions should resume on Monday, October 12, the union vowed not to resume, saying lecturers won’t work on empty stomachs.
