New Electricity Tariff - Insensitivity Of Our Leaders. by Cantonese: 4:45pm On Nov 03, 2020 |
After all said and done NLC told us that they called off the strike over fuel and electricity following government's proposal. We were all happy thinking the yeye NLC people had good intentions. Prior to this time Discos fixed electricity tariff that were unacceptable. We all protested and we were trickishly told that government, NLC and Discos were working on it and at the end we would be given favourable rates and terms. With this in mind we were told that they were reverting to old rates and we all relaxed. How many have noticed the new rates that took effect on 01/11/2020? N1000 now gives 17.2 Kwh as against 43.6 Kwh which was the reason for the strike. I don't understand how much Nigerians can tolerate these wicked and poverty inflicting policies and agenda of this government. It means that N10,000 which one used to purchase 436Kwh can now only purchase 172 Kwh. Now one needs close to N30,000 to get 436Kwh. These people are simply very brutal and intend to ensure that Nigeria's poverty exceeds that of Afghanistan. Today fuel and electricity tariffs have remained as they were prior to the deceptive NLC strike. |
